    Hey,

Just a reminder, there is going to be a super fun Ludum Dare Meetup in SF Tuesday, March 1st. There will be a reminder email in a few more days with final details on it.

We want to have a Live Ludum Dare Gamejam in SF on Friday, March 4th! We haven’t decided the location (so if you are in SF near the Moscone, or you are going to GDC and have some good ideas, helping us figure this out will be great.) We want to do a reminder email on Wednesday with the final details of where, but it’ll be all-day-long!!

People not in SF are free to join in, we’ll announce the theme on the website and have a place to post entries :)

Find Us: The day previous we’ll send out another email to the mailing list with a picture of PoV standing somewhere. That’s where you go to find us

We’re going to all get a plate of food and hang out and eat for an hour or so. It should be a good time! Be sure to wear your Ludum Dare T-Shirt so we can get a swell group photo!

Also, a few people mentioned wanting to organize some other crazy activities for during GDC. You should post a comment ( http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2011/02/17/ludum-dare-meetup-in-sf-on-march-1st/ ) with what your ideas are! I’m sure some of us would love to have even more fun at GDC than we’re already planning on having!

    Cheers!

  • [gamecompo] Python Game Programming Challenge 12 (April 2011) is coming!

Date: 2011.02.07 | Category: Syndicated Mailing List Posts | Response: 0

The 12th Python Game Programming Challenge (PyWeek) is coming. It’ll
run from the 3rd to the 10th of April.

    The PyWeek challenge:

    - Invites entrants to write a game in one week from scratch either as
an individual or in a team,
    - Is intended to be challenging and fun,
    - Will hopefully increase the public body of game tools, code and expertise,
    - Will let a lot of people actually finish a game, and
    - May inspire new projects (with ready made teams!)

  • [gamecompo] Ludum Dare Logo voting

Date: 2011.02.01 | Category: Syndicated Mailing List Posts | Response: 0

    Hey,

We’ve had some pretty awesome logos sent in!

    http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/logo-contest-2011/

Go and vote! If you have a super-late entry, feel free to submit it:

    http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/logo-contest-2011/?action=edit

If you don’t have an entry, you can’t actually vote but you can leave a comment saying that you love the logo. I’m using this judging phase as a way to gage interest, so as long as your interest is noted that’ll help :)

To the artists: a number of the logos have fun colorful backgrounds, it would be great if you could link to a layered XCF or PSD so that I can easily use and tweak them for use on T-shirts and the like.

    Cheers!
